PPC Help

Posted by: PPC Mom | Comments Comments

Here are some questions I have recently been asked on Warrior Forum, I hope they are helpful.

Longtail Keywords:
Sometimes long tail keywords don’t get a lot of traffic. They are more specific, but get a lot less searches. If you find a keyword with few competitors it might be that the search term is just searched too little to make it effective.

Doing Polls for CPA offers:
I have done great with polls for CPA offers and I definitely recommend ppc coach, check out my PPC Journey link to read a review. The scripts and the forum there are the best for the poll method.

I know I’m in a series of posts, but I wanted to put this post together to give people a little more information about PPV. To get started each of the advertising companies requires a deposit. Here are the requirements:

Media Traffic $100

Traffic Vance $500

Clicksor $300

I couldnt find the cost to start AdOn Network, but here is a great post from InsideAffiliate.net about the different PPV engines.

I have done PPV, I was a member at CPV Coach for two months, and it just didn’t work for me. The profits were so small, and it was so hit or miss I couldn’t make it worth my time. I should have stuck with it though, because people are doing great with PPV now and its becoming a favorite for a lot of super affiliates. I think it has to do with the volume of domains you are bidding on.

I went with Media Traffic and Traffic Vance when I started, and I do recommend them because the interface was easy to use and the customer service at Traffic Vance was awesome. Have you got any PPV experience?

Once I have all my keywords I bring up excel. Any spreadsheet program will work though. I grab my affiliate link and add a subid so I can do some tracking. This, of course, is if I dont have google conversion tracking on. Most links look like this: http://domain.com/subid=77889

Let’s assume I am also doing a direct link campaign. In the new spreadsheet the first column is Campaign, the second is Adgroup, third is Keyword, fourth is Destination URL.

In the campaign column, put the name of the campaign, I fill it to go all the way down. Next put in the keywords, I put the keywords in the adgroup column and the keyword column. Yes, each keyword has its own adgroup. The Destination URL is where I put the affiliate link.

Check this video to see how I give each keyword a different link

After that I import the keywords into Adwords Editor. Go into editor, and under the keywords select add multiple. Make sure you select that your columns already have the campaign info. Copy the spreadsheet and paste into the big white box, hit next.

Now I go under adgroups, select all and put a price on each adgroup (or keyword).

You have to add ads next… I will post that in a couple days.

keywordresearchI am assuming you have a product, and or site in mind. To get started you need some keyword research. Head over to the google keyword tool and put the link to your product or site in, then click to see what Google thinks of your site keyword wise.

What you have now is a good starter list of keywords, export this whole list. Now take the top keywords that Google thinks your site is about and put them back in the tool. You will get two lists, the bottom list is the one I am most concerned with. It gives you ideas of other words people use to search for the same thing when they are looking for your product/service/site. Usually you can find lower cpc keywords here. Add them to your list as well. Keep doing this with all of the main keywords from when you first put the link to your site in. Once you have a list of 50-100 keywords you can start your campaign.

I don’t use too many keywords when you first start the campaign, unless you have a lot of money to burn to find every conceivably converting keyword possible. My way of doing it allows you to get started with general keywords in your niche, but cheap ones as well. I generally do $5 a day for every 50 keywords I am bidding on.
