When you say “labels” what are you referring to? Categories or tags? Basically, any unique, quality content is going to help your blog in the search engine rankings. The more, the better. Hope this helps!

Regarding tags on blog posts, I have recently read an SEOMoz blog post that says 2 or 3 keyword tags are all that is needed from an SEO perspective. You don’t want to over-do it and add in 15 tags!
In this article, they also discuss the importance of META tags and a realistic description to help readers find the content they are searching for. I found it really helpful.
