Facebook Ads Targeting Secret Revealed

By PPC Mom

There are a few little known Facebook ads targeting secrets, and I am going to share one of them here with you today. Watch this very short video as I show you exactly how to put this trick to work for you right away.

Using this Facebook ads targeting secret, you will be able to display your ads on the pages of people who are friends of your current fans. This means that your ads will also include the names of their friends who are already fans. In early testing, this has proven to dramatically increase conversion of ads for fan pages.

    Hi Jen,

I'm trying to do some research into why Facebook ads are so volatile. Are you getting that too? I manage a few accounts that are all over the place for impressions and clicks each month.

    Hi Jay,
Yes. some campaigns flow consistently day to day, week to week. While others
jump up and down like crazy.
Have you tried limiting your campaign targeting to smaller groups?
You may find that some age & gender demographics tend to click on ads on
different days of the week or times of day.

We've also found it best to turn ads off for a few days to increase that
"wow" factor of a new ad. This helps keep it fresh.
I have a lot of other (more-detailed) blog posts about Facebook Ads on my

is this for ads that are advertising fan pages or can the ads clickthrough to external offers?

    thanks

  • Jen - this was such a helpful post. I've purchased a few ads on Facebook over the last year but was not aware of this ability to provide "social proof" that my service offers value in addition to the benefits highlighted in the ad itself.

Thanks for this truly valuable insight into how to use Facebook ads effectively.

The response to this video has been overwhelming.
