Need help with PPC?

By PPC Mom

Do you have questions about Pay Per Click advertising?

So many people seem baffled about PPC advertising. Everywhere I go it seems people are losing money on PPC ads. Is this you? Are you struggling to break even or find success with your PPC ads? Don’t worry! You’re not alone! And there is help available.

As you may know, my PPC journey began about this time last year. And I have to say that I LOVE PPC!!  This year, I have devoted almost every waking hour of my life to learning the business of Pay Per Click marketing online. This in no way makes me an expert. However, I do know some things, and I’d love to share what I know here with all of you who may be just starting out.

Where do you find real help with PPC?

I am a strong advocate of learning your trade properly. For that reason, I recommend you take a good look at the high quality training sites that are around. I am a member of most of these forums. There are a few ads for my favorite forums over on the right hand side of this page. If you click on one of those ads and join a forum, I will earn a small commission for referring you to the site.

I will always refer you to these forums if you are serious about learning how to use PPC to earn an income. I don’t mind if you don’t want to use my referral link – that’s totally up to you. I truly believe that is the best way for you to really learn a new skill.

Private questions? Tweet Me!

Also, if you have a private question, and you don’t feel comfortable asking here in the comments, please feel free to send me an email, or a “tweet” using the little boxes up there on the right and I will do my best to help you.

Some questions I have been asked recently:

  • Does Yahoo still allow polls for CPA offers?
  • How many ads to I need to test a campaign?
  • Is Yahoo a total waste of time for PPC?
  • I have been slapped from Google, what are my options?
  • Where is the best place to learn Facebook advertising?

Please ask your questions in the comments section below….

Go ahead! Let the fun begin!

  • Hi ppc Mom,

I just want to ask if ppc can help too for your sites to get ranked in google?
  • PpcJen
If your site gets more traffic, and people visit more than one page on your
site, then yes. PPC can help your overall ranking. But that is not the main
    objective of PPC.
With PPC we are looking to send a flood of traffic to a website, product,
    service, or offer - quickly.
It is fantastic for those times when you can't wait for your site to rank in
    the search engines.

Whoa...This site is a truly superior resource!!!

Quick question: Best tutorial source for getting up and running on WordPress?
  • PpcJen
Hi Eric - Thanks for your comments about the site. I'm glad you find it useful. ;)
As for Wordpress, I have used the videos at this site to help me get started. There are tons of great resources out there, this is just the one I use. Let me know what you think of it. If it's not what you need, let me know and I will keep looking! Enjoy!

  • When I launched my first website in 2007 I purchased AdWords without knowing a whole lot, other than I wanted to attract people interested in my topic to my website. I got some advice that PPC was an expensive an unnecessary tactic at that early stage of my online business. I ran the campaign for 2 months and stopped. But I'm quite certain the early, healthy level of traffic I received was as a result of those ads on Google. I now have a new site and I'm trying to build up traffic with regular posting, promos on twitter and other places (article marketing also planned). It's taking a looong time to get those numbers up. Since I came across your site (and your interview with Lynn) I'm interested again in PPC and would like to learn more from you re: effective resources.

Thanks Jen, and I'm really enjoying your site!
  • What's your favorite PPC search engine?
  • What resource would you recommend a newbie? I never know what resources to trust.

button_errorThis is caused whenever an error has occurred when looking up the tweet count for that URL. This may be because the URL has been blacklisted, our crawler is receiving a redirect, or we are unable to contact your site. This could be caused by our crawler timing-out when trying to retrieve the page (we have a very short time-out to ensure the button remains responsive). Ensure that your page loads successfully and quickly, and locate all the pages on your site where it works/doesn’t work before posting the details of your issue onto our forum.

button_holdingTo keep Tweetmeme fast and full of features we sometimes have to take the site down for maintenance. We show a colour-less button with a question-mark (?) when we do this. We always try to minimise downtime, and keep our users up to date on changes on TweetMeme on our blog.
  • This is great!

How much time and money do you typically spend testing a campaign before you give up?

Thanks for letting me know. I have tried to resolve this issue and I don't know what the problem is. The TweetMeMe button is working on all my other posts - but not this one. Very odd. I am looking into it now! And ideas or suggestions are most welcome!
  • PPC can be very costly. For people who can't afford some of the highly recommended courses like Perry Marshalls, where are some low cost or free resources that will give a good foundation?
