PPC Comes Before SEO

By PPC Mom

To be successful in your online business, I recommend you run Pay Per Click ads BEFORE you optimize your site for SEO or waste time with article marketing.

P.S. I agree entirely with John Jonas on this topic. To hear what he has to say, watch John Jonas’ video about Google Ad Words.

  • I had originally written a response that was going to respectfully disagree with you, and then I listened to your "audio-boo" and I agree that it's a great way to test your ad copy and find out what's working on your page, however, I think this depends on your situation.

For example, if you know how to make/design websites, then your route is ideal. However, if you're just learning about internet/affiliate marketing I would highly suggest learning how to make a website first, and learn some SEO so you know what it requires and to get comfortable with it. That way you'll know how to optimize a site for the PPC engines so your quality scores are decent and you're not spending too much testing a campaign.

This is such a good point. Thanks for making it. When I first started I had NO CLUE how to make a website at all. I was only direct linking and creating polls for CPA offers. Although money can be made that way, I think those methods are dying with the latest changes at Google AdWords.
  • I have friends who are not your typical 'Internet Marketers' who automatically thought it best to simply use AdWords to drive traffic to two of their membership sites they built, the results have been fantastic. You're spot on when you say the traffic is very targeted, although that's assuming the ads themselves are tightly associated with the offer on the landing pages but that goes without saying of course.

Nice succinct little piece, thanks. :)
